By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Contact Information
The Service is owned and operated by:
New Age Culinary LLC
Brendan Combs

Email: support@cookonhand.app
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, your information, or your privacy rights, contact us at support@cookonhand.app.
2. Summary
OnHand is a recipe app that helps users create personalized, AI-generated recipes based on the ingredients, tools, preferences, restrictions, serving needs, and time limits they provide. The Service may also allow users to save, rate, submit, and share recipes with the OnHand community, subject to review and approval.
At launch, OnHand does not require users to create an account and does not ask users for their name, email address, or phone number inside the app. However, the Service may collect information you provide while using the app, technical information about your device and usage, anonymous identifiers, subscription-related information, recipe submissions, uploaded photos, feedback, and analytics information.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party ads in the app. We do not share your information with third parties for cross-app or cross-website behavioral advertising.
3. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide in the App
When you use OnHand to create recipes, you may provide information such as:
ingredients you have;
pantry ingredients;
tools, appliances, or cookers you can use;
meal type;
recipe preferences;
dietary restrictions or other restrictions;
serving count;
time limit;
style or cuisine preferences;
additional written instructions;
selected recipe concepts;
recipe ratings;
feedback text; and
other information you choose to enter into the app.
This information is used to generate, personalize, improve, save, rate, review, or submit recipes.
B. AI Recipe Generation Information
OnHand uses artificial intelligence and related services to generate recipes. To create a recipe, we may send your recipe inputs, selected recipe concept, ingredient information, restrictions, preferences, tool information, serving needs, time limits, and related generation context to third-party AI and infrastructure providers.
OnHand may also use third-party recipe source information, including recipe links, titles, snippets, ingredients, steps, serving information, rating information where available, and related recipe details, to help ground recipe suggestions and produce better recipes.
At launch, OnHand does not provide nutrition facts or calorie estimates.
C. Recipes Saved Locally on Your Device
Some recipe information may be stored locally on your device so that you can view saved recipes, use app features, and continue using certain app experiences. Local device data may remain on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or the app removes it as part of normal operation.
D. Community Recipe Submissions and Recipe Snapshots
If you choose to submit a recipe to the OnHand community, we may collect and store a recipe snapshot in our database. This may include:
snapshot ID;
anonymous device ID;
app build information;
creation and rating timestamps;
recipe ID;
rating, such as like, love, or dislike;
community sharing consent;
uploaded photo path;
generated recipe content;
recipe inputs and generation context;
source information used to help ground the recipe;
dislike reason or feedback, if provided;
review status;
review timestamp; and
promoted recipe ID if the recipe is approved and added to the public recipe database.
Community submissions may be reviewed by a human before being added to the public recipe database. If approved, the recipe and uploaded photo may be shown to other users in the app. If rejected, the snapshot or related data may still be stored unless deleted later as part of normal data management or upon request where we can reasonably identify the data.
E. Photos
If you submit a recipe to the community, you may be required to upload a hero image. The compressed photo selected through the app may be uploaded to Supabase Storage or another storage provider we use.
Approved photos may be shown publicly in the app as part of community recipes. You should not upload photos that include people, faces, private information, sensitive information, copyrighted material you do not own, or anything you do not have permission to submit.
F. Ratings and Feedback
When you rate, like, love, dislike, or provide feedback about a recipe, we may collect the rating, feedback text, recipe snapshot, recipe ID, anonymous device ID, date/time, feedback type, recipe count, and related app context.
This information helps us improve recipe quality, understand user experience, review community submissions, debug issues, and decide which recipes may be appropriate for the OnHand community.
G. Microphone and Speech Recognition
OnHand may allow you to use your microphone to speak ingredient information. At launch, OnHand uses Apple speech recognition to convert speech into text.
We do not intentionally save raw audio recordings. The resulting transcript may be used to extract ingredients and may be sent to our servers, AI providers, or related infrastructure providers to process the ingredient extraction. The transcript is not intended to be stored permanently by OnHand at launch, but it may be processed temporarily to provide the feature.
Your use of Apple speech recognition may also be subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
H. Anonymous Identifiers and Device-Related Information
At launch, OnHand does not require an account. However, the app may create or use an anonymous device or installation identifier to operate features such as community submissions, recipe snapshots, ratings, abuse prevention, subscription-related flows, and app functionality.
This identifier is not intended to directly identify you by name, email, or phone number. However, it may allow us to associate multiple app actions, submissions, or events with the same anonymous device or installation.
Third-party providers such as Mixpanel, Adapty, Apple, Supabase, or other service providers may also create or use identifiers to provide analytics, subscription, infrastructure, fraud prevention, and app functionality.
I. Analytics and Usage Information
We use analytics tools, including Mixpanel, Adapty, Apple App Store / StoreKit / App Store Connect tools, and Supabase-related logs or database information, to understand how the Service is used and to improve the app.
Analytics may include events and usage information such as:
app sessions;
onboarding progress;
button taps;
paywall views;
subscription button selections;
purchase attempts and purchase completion events;
recipe creation actions;
community submission actions;
feedback actions;
app version;
app build number;
device model;
operating system and OS version;
screen height and width;
carrier;
Wi-Fi status;
country, region, and city inferred from technical information such as IP address;
timestamps;
anonymous or distinct identifiers;
library version;
API endpoint and processing timestamps; and
other technical event properties collected by our analytics providers.
At launch, we intend to track behavior and app usage events, not the specific ingredients, restrictions, recipe titles, or full generated recipe content in Mixpanel analytics.
J. Subscription and Purchase Information
Payments are handled through Apple In-App Purchase. We do not receive or store your credit card number or full payment card details.
We may receive or process subscription-related information through Apple, StoreKit, App Store Connect, Adapty, or related tools, such as:
subscription status;
product ID;
trial status;
renewal status;
cancellation status;
purchase history;
transaction identifiers;

This information is used to provide subscription access, restore purchases, manage entitlements, troubleshoot purchase issues, and understand subscription performance.
K. Support Communications
If you contact us at support@cookonhand.app, we may collect your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this information to respond to your request, provide support, investigate issues, improve the Service, and maintain business records.
L. Website Information
The OnHand website is primarily used to provide app information, App Store links, legal pages, and support contact information. At launch, we do not intend to use separate website analytics, advertising pixels, email signup forms, or contact forms.
Our website provider, hosting provider, domain provider, or other technical service providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, timestamps, and security logs to host, secure, and deliver the website.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information for the following purposes:
to provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
to generate personalized recipes;
to process ingredients, restrictions, tools, preferences, serving needs, and time limits;
to use speech transcripts to extract ingredients;
to save recipes locally on your device;
to process community recipe submissions;
to review, approve, reject, edit, remove, and publish community recipes;
to display approved recipes and photos in the app;
to process ratings, likes, dislikes, feedback, and recipe quality signals;
to provide subscriptions, free trials, purchase restoration, and entitlement access;
to analyze onboarding, paywall performance, app sessions, and app usage;
to improve recipe quality, app design, user experience, and app performance;
to troubleshoot bugs, crashes, errors, and technical issues;
to detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, misuse, fraud, security issues, or excessive usage;
to respond to support requests;
to comply with legal obligations;
to enforce our Terms of Service; and
to protect the rights, safety, and security of OnHand, our users, and others.
5. How We Share Information
We may share information with the following categories of recipients:
A. Service Providers
We may share information with third-party providers that help us operate the Service, including providers for:
database and storage infrastructure;
AI recipe generation;
recipe source search and processing;
analytics;
subscription management;
payment entitlement processing;
website hosting;
app distribution;
support communications;
security; and
technical operations.
At launch, these providers may include Apple services, Apple In-App Purchase, Apple speech recognition services, Supabase, Serper, OpenRouter, Google AI models, Adapty, Mixpanel, and related infrastructure providers.
B. Public Community Recipe Features
If you submit a recipe to the OnHand community and it is approved, we may display the approved recipe and uploaded photo publicly in the app. In the future, if account features are added, community recipes may display a username or other limited attribution.
C. Legal, Safety, and Compliance
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:
comply with law, legal process, or government requests;
enforce our Terms of Service;
detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues;
protect the rights, property, safety, or security of OnHand, users, or others; or
defend against legal claims.
D. Business Transfers
If New Age Culinary LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections where required by law.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on third-party services, software development kits, APIs, and infrastructure providers. These third parties may process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Third-party services may include, but are not limited to:
Apple services, including App Store, StoreKit, In-App Purchase, App Store Connect, and Apple speech recognition;
Supabase for database, storage, edge functions, and related backend infrastructure;
Serper for recipe source search;
OpenRouter and Google AI models for AI-related processing;
Adapty for subscription management, entitlement management, and subscription analytics;
Mixpanel for analytics; and
website hosting and technical service providers.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services.
7. Payments
All subscription payments are processed by Apple through Apple In-App Purchase. We do not collect or store your full payment card information.
Apple may collect and process payment, billing, tax, transaction, refund, and subscription information according to Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. Adapty may help us manage subscription entitlements and related subscription analytics.
Refunds and cancellations are handled through Apple.
8. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide, operate, improve, protect, and develop the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain business records.
Because OnHand does not require accounts at launch, some information may be associated with an anonymous device or installation identifier rather than a named account.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information:
Local app data may remain on your device until you delete it, delete the app, or the app removes it.
Recipe snapshots may be kept for review, quality improvement, debugging, and community submission purposes, but may also be deleted periodically to reduce storage.
Community recipes and uploaded photos that are approved and shown in the app may remain available until removed by us or deleted upon request where possible.
Feedback and analytics information may be retained for long-term product improvement, business analysis, abuse prevention, and historical reporting.
Support emails may be retained as part of ordinary support and business records.
If you request deletion, we will work with you to identify and delete information where reasonably possible and legally required.
9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, contact us at support@cookonhand.app.
Because OnHand may not require accounts at launch, we may need information from you to help identify the data connected to your request, such as details about your recipe submission, approximate submission date, support email, or other identifying context. We may not be able to locate or delete data that cannot reasonably be connected to you.
If you request deletion of a community submission, approved recipe, uploaded photo, feedback, or support communication, we will work with you to delete it where reasonably possible and legally required.
Deleting the app may remove local data from your device, but it does not automatically delete information already submitted to our servers or cancel an active Apple subscription.
10. App Permissions
The app may request permission for features such as:
Microphone / Speech Recognition: used to turn spoken ingredient information into text.
Photo Library / Photo Picker: used to select a photo for community recipe submissions.
You can manage app permissions through your device settings. If you disable a permission, some features may not work properly.
At launch, OnHand does not intentionally access contacts, calendar, health data, precise location, or files outside the permissions needed for app features.
11. Location Information
OnHand does not intentionally collect precise location information.
However, our service providers, including analytics, infrastructure, subscription, app distribution, website hosting, or security providers, may infer approximate location such as country, region, or city from IP address or other technical information. This may be used for analytics, security, fraud prevention, localization, tax, compliance, or service operation.
12. Tracking, Advertising, and Sale of Data
At launch:
We do not show third-party ads in the app.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-app or cross-website behavioral advertising.
We do not intentionally use Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt because we do not intend to track users across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.
If our practices change in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, ask for any required permissions.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are under 13, do not use the Service or submit personal information to us. If a parent or guardian believes that a child under 13 has provided personal information to OnHand, please contact us at support@cookonhand.app, and we will take reasonable steps to delete the information where required by law.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
14. International Users
The Service may be available in multiple countries and regions through the App Store. We are based in the United States, and information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
These countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws in your country. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
15. Legal Bases for Processing for Users in the EEA, UK, or Similar Regions
If you are located in a region that requires a legal basis for processing personal information, we may process information based on one or more of the following legal bases:
Contract: to provide the Service, subscriptions, recipe generation, community submissions, and support.
Legitimate interests: to improve the Service, analyze usage, prevent abuse, debug issues, protect security, and operate our business.
Consent: where you grant app permissions, submit optional information, upload photos, or where consent is otherwise required.
Legal obligations: to comply with applicable law, legal process, tax, accounting, consumer protection, or regulatory requirements.
16. U.S. State Privacy Rights and California Privacy Notice
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. These rights may include the right to request access to personal information, deletion of personal information, correction of personal information, portability of personal information, and information about certain data sharing practices.
We do not sell personal information and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used under U.S. state privacy laws.
To exercise privacy rights, contact us at support@cookonhand.app. We may need to verify your request before responding.

protect the rights, property, safety, or security of OnHand, users, or others; or
defend against legal claims.
Apple services, including App Store, StoreKit, In-App Purchase, App Store Connect, and Apple speech recognition;
Supabase for database, storage, edge functions, and related backend infrastructure;
Serper for recipe source search;
OpenRouter and Google AI models for AI-related processing;
Adapty for subscription management, entitlement management, and subscription analytics;

We may need to verify your request before responding. We will use verification information only for that purpose.

You should avoid submitting sensitive personal information, private information, photos of people, or information you do not want processed by the Service.

When you use OnHand to create recipes, you may provide information such as:
ingredients you have;
pantry ingredients;
tools, appliances, or cookers you can use;
meal type;
recipe preferences;
dietary restrictions or other restrictions;
serving count;
time limit;
style or cuisine preferences;
additional written instructions;
selected recipe concepts;
recipe ratings;
feedback text; and
other information you choose to enter into the app.
This may include:
snapshot ID;
anonymous device ID;
app build information;
creation and rating timestamps;
recipe ID;
rating, such as like, love, or dislike;
community sharing consent;
uploaded photo path;
generated recipe content;
recipe inputs and generation context;
source information used to help ground the recipe;
dislike reason or feedback, if provided;
review status;
review timestamp; and
promoted recipe ID if the recipe is approved and added to the public recipe database.
Analytics may include events and usage information such as:
app sessions;
onboarding progress;
button taps;
paywall views;
subscription button selections;
purchase attempts and purchase completion events;
recipe creation actions;
community submission actions;
feedback actions;
app version;
app build number;
device model;
operating system and OS version;
screen height and width;
carrier;
Wi-Fi status;
country, region, and city inferred from technical information such as IP address;
timestamps;
anonymous or distinct identifiers;
library version;
We may receive or process subscription-related information through Apple, StoreKit, App Store Connect, Adapty, or related tools, such as:
subscription status;
product ID;
trial status;
renewal status;
cancellation status;
purchase history;
transaction identifiers;
entitlement status; and
related purchase or subscription events.
We may use information for the following purposes:
to provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
to generate personalized recipes;
to process ingredients, restrictions, tools, preferences, serving needs, and time limits;

to improve recipe quality, app design, user experience, and app performance;
to troubleshoot bugs, crashes, errors, and technical issues;
to detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, misuse, fraud, security issues, or excessive usage;
to respond to support requests;
to comply with legal obligations;
to enforce our Terms of Service; and
to protect the rights, safety, and security of OnHand, our users, and others.

8. Data Retention
